Amsterdam
This November, I went on a trip to Amsterdam to go to Kaboom Animation Festival. I wrote another blogpost about the festival specifically, but it was a very enriching experience. I found it eye-opening to see such a wide range of shorts and it made me realise how varied Animation can be.
Apart from going to the festival, I also took some time to visit the city. I'd never been to the Netherlands before. Here are some pictures I took on a walk through the city centre with fellow animators and friends.
As you can tell, Amsterdam is a beautiful city with rich architecture and a pretty magical atmosphere. Needless to say, I sketched as much as I could whilst I was there. Here are some snippets from my sketchbook.
I turned some of these rough drawings into more polished pieces, like the one below, which I made on Procreate. I tried to capture the atmosphere of early-winter mornings which danced through the air.
